Take open ended wrench, apply torch, bend.   Or order Pete's manifold and skip all three steps.   :checkit:

It's just a wrench with a really bent/angled head on it.  You'll figure it out when you're installing it.   :checkit:  Wink

harry, remember, as shitty a job as this seems, there are cars that are far, far harder to work on.

the 1.8t really has a lot of room to work in.

most wrenches have a 15 degree bend.  bend it at the factory bend.  hope that makes sense. you need the angle to keep from hitting the head.

I would always "port" the area around the studs to make putting the nuts on easier.  It still sucked, but I could at least get the box end of the wrench on there(once it was bent.  Also, I had good luck with a 1/4' Snap-on swivel on an extension, opnce the manifomd was clearanced around the studs.

I was thinking about that but don't know how thick are the mani walls, what if I would shave too much  blink

You don't need to shave too much.  Just enough for the socket to get around the nut.  Take little steps...
