I had a problem with my ignition coils popping up on my car. I torqued the plugs to the factory Spec 22 Ft/lbs, and refused to go any more. I change my plugs frequently, and don't want a costly head repair bill.  I tried cleaning the coils, and all sorts of stuff. Finally I made these brackets.

I had to order a few of these to get them made at a machine shop of a high quality (I had some handmade ones that looked pretty ghetto). I have some left, and will sell as a kit.

3 6061 T6 aluminum brackets with 3/8 Thick rubber trim.
1 rubber block for covered coil #4
5 M6 x 10mm Stainless Steel Allen Bolts

35$ Shipped paypal to baltruckij@netscape.net

Before ordering make sure you are properly torqued down.

EDIT: - Here is a link to one happy customer with great install details and pictures.  http://www.billswebspace.com/vwgli.htm

BUMP - Update 8/3/07

I still have several of these kits available.
Still 35$ shipped to baltruckij@netscape.net.

if you need extra brackets, or blocks i can put together whatever you need.

do you know the cause of the coil packs to come up? it was happening on my friends ride as well. I am guessing no seeing as how you made the brackets, but figured I would ask.

Im not exactly sure why, here is a list of potentials

Leaking around plug - slight leak
Grease on Coil OD
Greased on COIL ID
Coil ID is supposed to grip plug - weak coil
Heat cycles
Leaking around OD of coil, and heat cycles
Vibration

I tried cleaning the coils/plugs with brake clean inside and out, and tried retorquing them, and it didnt change anything. My 2, and 3 were popping up.
