Your RS has a 4psi spring? Where did you find one that weak? I thought they only came in 10 and 15psi. At what rpm do you get 18psi? Maybe you don't have enough tension on your WG arm.

What does the WG arm look like? It doesn't have a little nut on it or anything? Honestly, it sounds like the flapper isn't 100% shut. That would affect spoolup and max boost. When I swapped to the .86 housing, I had the exact same problem. Shortening the arm a little made a world of difference. I wasn't hitting 18psi until like 5.5K, similar to you.

you can call forge and see if they have a nice actuator for your needs:

not the cheapest alternative, but worth a try!

Thanks Steve, so you have to set the start boost at 0.5psi less than the specified boost to get the faster spool up  :thumbup1:

Excuse any ignorance, since I am yet to get my Profec running, but have any of you considered/tried using the Profec as a psuedo-two-step at the track? Running low boost in first/second to keep traction decent, then using the remote switch to go to high boost? Just a thought I had...

Well I just put about 30 miles on my car trying to get my profec running correctly. I can get the boost where I want it, but it always falls off about 4/5psi and stays right there until redline (unless I'm purposely boosting 11/12psi). I've seen mention of the gain goings down to %0, but the lowest setting on mine is %5—that normal (this is a used unit)? I can adjust the gain to a seemingly mid point where boost falls off less than before, but if I bump it up %1-2 from there, it'll drop more, even all the way to 9psi if I get extreme with it. I'm almost certain I just need to play with it more, but maybe some of you have a magical BT forum fix?

And, of course, I had to run into a stage 2 srt-4 while trying to tune it. It was super even (highway roll)... he took a car or so on me in the end. Not too bad with stock exhaust, 17psi, and a bunch of boost fall-off.

.86 RS with a 11psi wastegate spring, if it matters. Thanks a lot!

If your boost is falling off, turn the gain up. My gain is set at 18%.

In my infinite wisdom, I somehow managed to switch the hoses from the com/no to the wg/charge pipe. After switching those and removing the cap from the nc port (thanks to your vortex post, MJ), it's running a lot better. Still getting some surging at high rpms, but I'll get it under control.

Haha, glad someone read that poop. Mine is pretty smooth at 19psi. No boost fall off. I love the Profec. :driving:

Only thing i hate about my Profec is that when the weather takes a dive and the temp's drop, that thing starts beepin like a mofo, like it's hitting the warning....

but i have a question...can that thing start to beep if the WG boost isnt reached into time, and the DB is reached prior to the WG opening? seems that when i spread the DB and WG further apart i can avoid the beeping all together.

OK im still messing with my Profec B and most the time i work off the WG

I have a GT28RS from ATP. InternalyWG'ed

and first off Just running off the WG i hit 17-18 PSI!!/???
is it the actuator arm that needs to be adjusted? and twards the actuator or the actuall WG.

then i was messing with the Profec to get a solid 18-19 PSI, and some times at High RPMS the boost surges
-does that mean that my Gain needs to be set higher?

wow, 18psi off the wg?? mines only 10psi. to adjust it you just loosen the rod alittle.

surging means you have to much gain. where do you have it set at?

does anybody have the stock k03 turbo with the profec??  and does the warning actually do anything except for stop boost at that point? also my boost drops like 5-8 psi from 20psi really fast and i read that if you up the gain it will not loose boost or go down slower??  but what about set gain? i have mine set at 180

I'm running the profec on my ko3s.  Settings now are:

Set: 67%
Gain: 11%
Set Gain: 11.5 psi
Warning is 21 psi
Limter: 4%

It runs pretty damn smooth in terms of partial throttle and will hold about 19-20psi till like 4000rpm and slowly tapper (not exactly positive cause most of the time I'm looking at the road rather than my boost gauge).  Pulls like a bat out of hell right now.  You can increase the Gain all you want but the ko3 doesn't want to hold that much boost.
