WTF is it doing this for? Is there a leak around my sparkplug?

Try tightening the spark plugs down a lil more.  This was happening to Ant before.   I initially put the plugs in, and gave them what I thought was enough torque.  But they started popping up.  He gave then another half turn, and they stopped popping out

Yes.  Try re-torquing the plugs (to 22 ft-lbs I think) and degreasing with rubbing alcohol the sealing rings on each coilpack and where they sit in the valve cover.  If that doesn't work, some people sell brackets to hold the coilpacks down.

just be careful...we have aluminum heads...and if the engine is hot/warmer you could easily strip the head...but yeah it's a TQ issue

Oh damn, I was under the impression you had changed them.  Well, try giving them a lil more twist, but do be careful.

How long have you had the plugs in?  Ever think about changing them?

They have been doing this since they were recalled.  VW says clean out "grease" that the coils come coated with on inside. I just bought new coils two weeks agao, they do not do it anymore.

this problem often occurs when running Autolite sparkplugs...
the Autolites have a different diameter that is slightly smaller then the stock NGK's therefore the coilpack doesnt fit snuggly around the plug.

if you are using the NGK's and are still getting the problem, i have made a few sets of brakets for each coilpack that mount diagonally across the coilpack and bolt down to the stock wholes in the valve cover...
ill try and get some pictures taken tonight and post them up if any of you are interested :driving:

The coilpacks are very easy to take off.  You just give three of them a little tug and they pop right off.  The last one, you need to remove the vacume canister.  Its only one bolt and three alan screws if I am remembering correctly.  Then just pop off the 4th coil pack.

Here is my Kit

Coil pack removal is simple.

1 allen wrench
10 mm socket

press connector and slide it back. Pull up on coil, there will be some suction and it can be tough to get them out. It can be tough on a hot engine, and the coils stay damn hot, so just do it  on a cool engine.

on the right coil remove 10 mm nut, and allen bolt. And move the canister out of the way and remove the sheetmetal bracket. Disconnect the harness and pull it up.

I can only believe that compression is forcing the coils out of the head. My experience when I removed my plugs for inspection was the plug connectors were tight as help in the head. No way they could vibrate loose. Pressure has to be forcing them out. Not good.

I guess whats his names brackets are ok. I would just try to find a better sealing plug. With all that rubber on the connector I doubt much air could be getting sucked in on the intake stroke. So maybe the brakets are ok.

:evil3: All you BT guys running so much pressure your blowing you coilpacks out.
