I bet you have have the N75 H, that N75 isn't good with big amount of flow, take if off and put a MBC in ASAP, you will get full boost earlier on the rev renge and you can set the boost to whatever you want.

i'm running a ebc and i think 03slvrstone has a mbc.....

i believe the issue to be the wg for the R is to weak for RS. i'm ordering an adj. wg actuator.

Clay,
Is it possible to change the hot side housing to a .64 A/R without having to many problems?

I'm thinking the compressor housing has too much clearance from the blade, bad efficency no power.

not really too big just wonder if it would spool quicker with the smaller housing. Don't get me wrong I love the power the car has just curious thats all.

who are you referring to? I am running no N75 with a MBC and only hitting 19psi Max. Damn I can't wait to get proper sw.  But still is is possible to change the hot side housing or is there more to it?

i'm running a ebc too, i don't know who your talking about running an n75??

i got a new wg with an adj rod. the r wg is to weak (only 4psi) hence the late spool and only seeing 18-19psi. i'll hopefully have result in a week or so.

it's probably the wastegate closing force. On my STG III kit the lowest boost I can get is ~10 - 12 psi, so APR is running a stiffer wastegate spring, or has jacked up the preload.

Forge was working on some custom actuators for internal gates. may be worth looking into.

yeah no doubt!

i called atp and they sent me a 7-9psi actuator. so i'll be testing it in the next week or so. plus i'll be doing unitronic sw real soon. if it still doesn't spool/boost right, then its time for another turbo, hehe

i seem to still be in the same boat as i was when i started. i can only get 18psi @ 5k-ish. i'm running 15psi for now. i got my wg adjusted to 10psi. so the wg is working better now. i'm going to try a new dp next.

hows yours going?

Think about what I said could be the issue. Hell my GT28R could hold 24psi.

so your sayin the compressor housing is to big to keep up with the hotside? what would the fix be?

yeah, my R would spool 23-24psi all day long.

I'm saying that ATP probably machined or didn't machine some "R" housings to fit the the "RS" wheel. They did a crappy job or no job and thus there is to much clearance between the wheel and the housing, and all the boost is leaking out the sides of the compressor instead of coming out the outlet.

You know what I mean?

Software, downpipe, adaptor plate, inlet piping and compressor cover could all factor into this.  The compressor housing machining isnt the issue.

The GT28R also has a 64ar turbine housing that would obviously help compared to the 86 on these things.

the turbine housings are interchangeable its just 6 bolts hold it on and the wastegate flapper clip.  :driving:

Hey guys, sorry for not replying sooner, I've been very busy with this corrado 1.8T swap.  Sean shoot me an email, same for you AG.  I'll look into it tomorrow.  Basically its a bolt on, there are 6 bolts and a clip holding the wg flapper to the rod, and thats about it.  If the turbo is off the car and you have the propper tools it should take about 5 mins to do it.
