A few of us are trying out the 28RS in the 28R casing. I am running .86a/r maxing 19psi @4500 rpms. Upgraded the manifold and still hitting only 19psi. Would software really play that big a roll in the amount of boost the car is flowing?

I believe it is 18-19psi. No diode right now I have run with it before with the 28R on it and it ran well I was just about to ask if it would be safe to run now. Question is I forget which one to run the 4.3 or 4.7?

the file requests 19psi at redline with a spike...which makes perfect sense...
hence why it won't boost over that...

get SW that will allow you to boost whatever you want if you can afford it...

wouldn't running a diode or VC2 change that though??

never played around with either one but from my understanding it "should" work...I mean the diode just does not allow the ECU to see that you are boosting over the requested amount...let me go read up a bit on it, as i've never used a diode or VC clamp as they are slightly different things...

I know what diode is and does but what is this VC VC2 that you are referring to?

Voltage clamp and EBC should work good enough for 21~22psi.

no prob man.

are you running the stock rubber tip to the upgraded inlet? i am and if you are, could that be colapsing under full boost and restricting our flow?

Unlikely to happen even if you aren't using the upgraded turbo inlet...not enough air-flow for it to colapse...

i run the vc2 on my 28rs (.86) running plain 'ol apr stage 3 software ... ebc is set @ 23psi for high boost ... on 104 it pulls nicely ... did 335whp - cut off @ 6500 & still pulling.  spoolup was just a tad later ... 20psi @ just under 4k.

I am running the upgraded inlet pipe but no samco hose. Bypassed the N249 last night and noticed it spools quicker when shifting into 2nd and 3rd. :eek3dance:

so you got the stock rubber tip connect to the inlet? have you tried running just off the wg? to see how much boost you are getting....

could the r wg be to weak for the r/rs combo? my wg was opening at 4psi Crying or Very sad

what do you mean run off the wg? run the boost gauge off the wastegate???

Yeah I have the billet upgraded inlet pipe connected to the stock intake pipe to a CAI. Where would it collapse at?

run the hose on your wg to your charge pipe. that will show how much boost the wg holds. mine was 4psi and it should be 8-10psi.

it "could" collapse any where on the stock tip. but donr pretty much eliminated that.

not to sure yet tiz, i'll know in a few more weeks.

could the r wg actuator be to weak for the r/rs combo? when i ran the charge pipe to the wg actuator i only saw 4psi.

ok so it was nice this weekend and I got to do some more testing. I didn't hook up the wg to the charge pipe. I did on the other hand pay attention to the wg opening at about 9psi when going into boost.

Also I am spooling at 4300rpms and at full boost by 4800rpms. holding 18 to redline. really liking this setup and as soon as my software is ready I am looking at a set 20psi to redline.

how did you do that without running a hose from the charge pipe to the wg actuator?

since I really don't completly understand what you meant I just paid attention to the sound of the turbo I am pretty sure that I was hearing it open at around 9psi. I could be wrong though and might still need to test it out the way you are asking. if you could explain a little better than I might be able to give you the answer you were looking for...

ok, let me try.

on the charge pipe, their is a hose that goes to your MBC/EBC/N75. well take it off whatever your using to control boost and run it down to the nipple on the wg actuator. your pretty much bypassing your boost controller and running solely on your wg spring.
