i have noticed and never really payed attention to this, but it just caught my curiosity.  When engine mods intake, new dv, ICs etc, will the engine cover still fit?  or is there not enough room now, hence photos and such with them not on (or am i an idiot and they just have them off to show a little leg)

might as well start posting somewhere.
Most of the time it is just easier for people to play if the cover is already off but some components do not allow for it to fit back on. So both

Yes...agreed but you can also re-route components if they shoud not fit to have the engine cover fit...

For instance here is a 1.8T motor that has been extensively modified and the engine cover fits nice... :thumbup1:

CAI should not cause a problem.   Some DV's have been known to cause some fitment issues with the engine cover.

Ya, Al is a whore :face:

If the engine cover does not fit over a larger DV in the stock spot, you can always trim the cover like I did...don't have a pic up, but I just took a Dremel and cut off the raised portion in that corner of the cover..it fits good now :driving:

Add to the mix an '04 Getta GLI and you have Sarah's 1.8 turbo stable.

I think he was talking about me....but i don't know if i would have gotten flamed.  I said it was kinda a noob question (even though i am quite versed in the art of dub), it was something i really couldn't search and just never paid much attention to.  Usually the guys that flame are the pricks that are just trying to stir up the pot a little and cause e-drama.  But yes, this site does rock

the hyper boost DV is slightly larger than the forge 007, so the engine cover isnt sitting perfectly on right now.
