I have searched for diagnostic tools for my 1.8T and found only a few sources. It appears that most folks are using VAG-COM but the base price is around 230.00 from Ross - Tech (http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/18T.html). Are there other retailers that can compete with this pricing and are there other diagnostic tools that work better or are more affordable for your average shade tree mechanic?
Thanks.

Thanks,
I have also received this as a resource http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...earch/Scanner/
It seems as if it may be a decent alternative and it is extremely competitively priced. I like it because you don't need a lap top - but haven't found anyone with experience using it yet. Have you any experience with a tool of this nature for VW/Audi?
