Wavetrac Carrier Factual Information

I want to purchase a Wavetrac carrier for my 2002 5 speed GTI and would like to know if there is anyone who has any experience with this unit. I have performed multiple searches on the forum and on the web and have not found a single one to fail as of today (July 9th, 2010). They seem to be very solid -- and a better choice for someone who wants to keep both tires turning under adverse conditions. I have considered the Peloquins, and the Quafie but both have reported the same problem - the loose tire gets the traction. The Wavetrac is one of the few affordable carriers that will keep both tires under traction at all times. I have read the concerns about the wear disc but there have been no reported problems since the introduction of the carrier. - Can anyone report a failure or problem?
Well, If not, I think I'm going to have one installed next week.....Please report any problems that you might be having so the rest of the vortex community can make wise decisions concerning this purchase.

Is there no one in Vag kingdom with info on this carrier? If I could just get a fair deal on the unit I would buy it because I know it is quality - but no one is stepping up to the plate. Is it the transmission forum or the topic in general? Or (dreadfully), it can't be the forum- cause there is really no where else to go....

I ordered the unit from MJM and had a local shop "weeks" install it. I picked it up today and will be installing the motor and trans week after next. I can post the progress if there is there is anyone interested.
