Hey All,

I currently own a 1999 Audi A4 1.8T. I've changed the timing belt about a year ago and I replaced the throttle actuator last fall/winter. But I have been and continue to experience inconsistent problems with the car. First of all, the car will sometimes have a very unsteady idle. I'll sometimes be stopped at a stoplight and then the rpm will drop almost to the stalling point and then rev itself back up to above 1000rpm and then drop again and then revs itself back up... When this happens, the throttle becomes unresponsive as well. I'll have to rev the engine up to 5000rpm before the car even begins to accelerate. Like I said, this happens very irregularly... I'm thinking this is an ECU problem, but what do you guys think?? Some help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I took it to a shop for the throttle actuator change, so they must've adapted it?... I just read the 1.8T trouble shooting post, could it be the MAF acting up?
