I am involved in an interesting project- an 1.8T for Bonneville.
While the dyno plots below don't look like anything special, land speed racing requires the engine to stay at WOT for a very long time. The dyno was set to 50RPM/sec giving a pull length of about 60 seconds. This is between 6 and 12 times longer than a normal pull on a chassis or engine dyno. Typically, a drag car of this power level may stay at WOT for 3-4 seconds.
Believe me, I was squirming on my seat as it slowly climbed to 8000.
This should be enough for about 250mph
2.0 bottom end
Ported AEB
CAT 3658 cams
HTA 3586 1.06 A/R exhaust to keep back pressure low as spool is not a concern
Forcefed custom exhaust mani
RMR intake
22psi
Set up rich to keep combustion chamber temps down
As usual, Superflow 901 Engine Dyno
