2002 Jetta GLS 1.8t

I've replaced the Battery, Starter, Starter Relay, and Ignition Switch. I've also checked the continuity of all the starting system wires, but can't figure out the problem. Other than that I've had problems while driving where my transmission was stuck in limp home mode (4th Gear) after starting, and while driving down the high way I punched the gas and nothing happened. I also noticed that the transmission selector display on the dash is reversed with a Black background and White lettering versus a normal White background and Black lettering. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else I may check or am I stuck taking her in?
