How do I change the fuel filter on 2002 V6 Passat?

I have a 02 GLX Passat and sometimes when I start it, it will stall before even starting. I have a strange feeling its the fuel filter since I think it's only been changed once, maybe twice. Has this happen to anyone and how hard is it to locate and change the fuel filter?

Its not the fuel filter.

Its almost never the fuel filter.
