I have got a question

What is the purpose of the D V valve

I have heard two stories

1)   As soon as the throttle closes it dumps the pressure back to it intake side of the turbo /or atmosphere  ,thus protecting the hoses and intercooler against over pressure

2)   As soon as the throttle closes it dumps the  pressure back to the intake side of the turbo /or atmosphere ,thus all the pressure won’t go back into the turbo slowing it
down ,so if the throttle opens again the compressor wheel won’t take as long to get up to speed again

So can one run a car without a DV ,and would it damage the turbo (GT 3076) the car will run 25-30 psi please help

both are correct to a degree.

You like Spaghetti? That's what happens when you don't run a DV or a BOV.

The turbo builds an enormous amount of pressure shoving all that air into your engine. So when your throttle body closes, that air pressure needs to go somewhere. This is where the DV or BOV comes into play. It vents all that excess pressure so it doesn't come rushing back at your turbo...

cuz if it does... you get back spool... Your turbo is spinning in one direction and now that all that pressure is coming back at it, it'll force it to spin the otherway to relieve that pressure. Without a DV or BOV to vent that pressure (or if your DV or BOV is not properly set or is malfunctioning), you get the turbo back spool. And this plays hell on the bearings in your turbo...

mmmm.. metal spaghetti...
