Where's the MAF?

where's the MAF buried on my 2000 passat 1.8T (ATW)? Also what does the combi valve do? Half of the bottom gasket in sticking out the side on mine. it has to be blocking some airflow.

found everything and made the repairs. cel stayed illuminated for several days after repairs. now it is out. does the car still need to be scanned?

Oh nice!
Even though the cel went out, the ECU will store the code in there. It would be a good idea to scan it and delete it.
