I noticed the crank pulley is different..One has a woodruff key and the ALH has a flat spot machined on the end. I have heard many people mention using the ALH to do a stroker (95.5 mm). How is this possible?

An ALH crank in the 1.8T block is a bad idea and the rod ratio gets pretty extreme.  As for the pulley, I think you just need to notch the crank snout for the key

I talked to a fella who said he paid 200 dollars to have a woodruff keyway machined. If I were to use that crank I was definitely going to find a tall block. I was considering using the tdi block, but it's going to require alot of filling/ machining. Kinda of similar to using and aeb on an aba. Thanks for the reply Bob!
