Newbie w/ Coolant Leak?

The wife has a '02 Passat w/ a 1.8T (70K miles). I've noticed a coolant leak for the last couple of weeks but haven't been able to locate it. Well I finally got to spend a couple of hours crawling around and checking it out.. and I found coolant all over the top of the tranny just behind the engine and between the fire wall. So i'm guessing the t-stat housing is leaking???  It's pretty difficult to see back there. Has anyone ran into this before?

Any help is appreciated.
