can you take another picture of the fracture surface?

from this view I see a small void (dark empty pocket) in the left surface.

Just a cheap squeeze cast part pushed to it's limits. Could just be bad luck and got a gas bubble in there during casting.

I dont have the parts, only the pictures sent to me.. sent to the owner by the race team who look after his car.
all stock parts it turns out.. Amazed at this.
CNC ported head here cost >£1000 and then built up with standard valves on a race car, revved to 8K rpm?  makes no sense to me nor the owner who thought he had uprated parts.
I fear the head is scrap with the bucket bore damage

I know a place in the US that could POSSIBLY fix that damage.

They have repaired the same type of damage on motorcycle heads.

the heads been repaired and it survived the next race and help him finish with a best ever 2nd in class (2nd to me  Funky)
now runs supertech valves and springs.

turns out the valve seat cutting was not concentric with the guides.. some offset.
Motor runs better now too.

There's an AERA notification about those breaking in half and they should be replaced with and updated version.  I'm not at my shop right now, but I will get the information about that tomorrow and post it.

Thanks for posting the pics..an uncommon failure I'd say, but reason enough to upgrade the retainers for serious work.
