So it all started with a new tune that didnt run right. Lots of misfires, etc. This is back in march.

Took me three months to GET the damn file in the first place.

Woo. great.

Ok. There seems to be a hardware issue.

Get out for a rip, my electronic throttlebody fails, the motor bearing seized.

Problem solved right?

Nope... Waterpump bearing also making noise.

Hey that could cause all the timing pull right?

nope.

Still tons of misfire...

Checked for boost leaks, nothing, presurized the entire system, nada
No plug, coil, or other issues present.

Do a compression test (this is important) reading are static accross the board, all cylinders are about the same, compression is good.

Ok, fine. Maybe these fucking cams are just no good for the application, did some internet digging and sure enough since me and the rest of the test mules got these things, nothing but problems, and no real gains reported.

Out go the fucking cams, back with the stockers that can still make upwards of 600AWHP with the right turbos...

Oops, some dipshit switched the right and left intake cams in their boxes and my mechanic didnt notice until the cam sensors went apeshit. Flipped em back, still lots of misfires... this is oh.. maybe early MAY now...

So he checks the lifters and sure enough, three of the intake lifters are toast. YAY! awesome! we found the root cause of all these problems.

Refresh ALL the lifters, slap it back together, do a quick leakdown test to make sure that....

uh oh.

Remember that perfectly fine compression test we did back in april? well now we got 60% loss on one side. Now generally if compression test was that good, one wouldnt have a miserable failure on a leakdown test. Ergo... some valves got bent somehow during the multiple cam installation festival.

And that brings us up to date on all things bastard.

The good news: mechanic is still awesome, he will drop the motor and fix what he fucked up (cuz he aint getting his lift back till he does Smile ) and I can switch in some upgraded head gaskets with a bit lower compression on em as well.

Its been a frustrating springtime.

fucking cars.

they can be extremely frustrating at times. Now that you've narrowed down the problems, you can relax a little bit till you get the car back beer
