fuel pumps for 500bhp on 750cc injectors plus 4bar fpr

what sort of setups do you run for fuel pumps for the higher bhp motors?
Walbro stories of fuel pickup problems (and requirement for swirlpots etc) put me off.
I currently run Audi S3 in tank pump which then feeds a golf Gti (mk1) in-line fuel pump. a concern pointed out to me from a friend who ran similar setup was the intake fuel of the in-line pump he used sucked flat as if it was starved by the in tank pump. mines never done this, been fitted & running since Oct 2005, but the in-line pump has always been noisy.
Do you think its sukcing too hard and being restricted on flow? never had a fueling issue from insuffient fuel.

I am not sure if the vf engineering would be enough for your setup but take a look at it

.
This would be a nice replacement of your S3 pump and maybe change the inline with a walbro(isn't so noisy when used as inline)!

stock pump can flow like crazy at low pressures.
re-wiring it with a nice 10 gauge wire wouldn't be a bad idea though.
