I have had some severe problems with my tranny since I have replaced it and the clutch.  It seems that the clutch does not always engage/disengage.  For instance if i push in the clutch to change gears 80% of the time it is great, but 10% of the time it seems that it just hits the floor or is too weak and it will not go into or out of gear and the other 10% of the time it seems that I can feel it give out about 1/2 way throught the shift.  As i said i replaced the tranny with a new euro Sport factory replacement and an ECS stage 2 clutch.  I have also replaced the primary and secondary clutch cylinders.  I just cant seem to get it working right.  Is there a better primary or secondary cylinder available or is it possible I have an air bubble?  Please help!!!

The only thing I have gotten to work is double clutching, but it does not help wehn I have the clutch on the floor and it will not come out of gear. (all though it will coast so it seems it is partially working)

whats your year modle and what tranny is it?  It sounds like you need to bleed your clutch.

yeah sounds like an air bubble. Try bleeding it. The 02J actually bleeds pretty easy, the 02m is a mfker to bleed.

I have a 2003 GTI 1.8t.  I have bled and bled the clutch.  I can not seem to get it right.  I can say that the bleader just doesn't seem to seat tightly.  I have gotten the bleeder hand tight (snug) and it still allows air in.  To get it tight I had to use pliers since the wrench would not hold the plastic tight enough.  Does any one make a speed bleader for it?
