Preliminary says the first and second gear hub are fucked.

was having trouble getting into 1st gear a lot when stopped at a light or whatever, for months now.


after a day of lapping i made one little drag run, couldnt find third, shut down, and 1st/2nd were just gone.

finally got it into second, got it off the track, and couldnt pull it back out. (took a prybar under the car to do it)

now engaging 1st and 2nd is rough.


Figure i just finished off a preexisting issue. Ill update when the tranny is pulled apart.

160,000km, the last 20,000 being HARD driven every weekend.

aaaaand a quick search of AW shows that these exact parts had been updated by audi. fuck.

I feel your pain man, I shredded a couple boxes myself.

Cryo treating does help, just not enough in my case. Its worth the $150 to try it out though.
