Volkswagen has today confirmed pricing and specification for the most powerful production Golf to date, the new R32. The second generation high performance, four-wheel drive Golf goes on sale in the UK in November, with a starting price of £23,745 on the road for the Golf R32 V6 4MOTION 3-door with manual gearbox.

The R32 offers the most comprehensive standard specification of any model in the Golf range. Standard equipment includes: bi-xenon headlights; 2Zone Climatronic air conditioning; a ten-speaker audio system; rain sensor wipers with auto-dimming rear view mirror; sports suspension – lowered by approximately 20mm; and 18-inch alloy wheels inspired by those of the first R32, launched in 2002.

A unique R32 styling pack features a bold aluminium full-length grille, centrally-positioned twin exhaust pipes, darkened rear lenses, new front spoiler with imposing air scoops, plus a full-depth painted rear bumper (with black middle section) and signature blue brake callipers.

The interior of the new R32 offers distinctive instruments, sports seats, aluminium pedals, and leather with aluminium trimmed gear knob and steering wheel. For those wanting to add the ultimate sporting touch, dramatic racing-style Recaro bucket seats are available as an option from £945.

The new model is powered by a development of Volkswagen’s proven 3.2-litre narrow-angle V6 petrol engine, this time uprated to 250 PS (from 241 PS). Sophisticated 4MOTION four-wheel drive, using the Haldex system, promises high levels of control, grip and handling dynamics.

A dedicated website has been set-up for prospective buyers, offering full details of pricing and specification. The site www.newgolfr32.co.uk will eventually offer visitors a car configurator to help choose options, including colours and upholstery. Prices for the new Golf R32 are detailed below.

Golf R32 V6 4MOTION 3 door manual gearbox - £23,745  ($28,580.71 USD)

Golf R32 V6 4MOTION 3 door DSG - £25,075  ($30,181.57 USD)

Golf R32 V6 4MOTION 5 door manual gearbox - £24,245  ($29,182.54USD)

Golf R32 V6 4MOTION 5 door DSG - £25,575  ($30,783.40 USD)

What's w/ the funny math? biggrin Those are British pounds, not Euros.

£23,745 = $42,153.38
£25,075 = $44,514.47
£24,245 = $43,041.01
£25,575 = $45,402.09

Dollar for dollar, the median income of the British is significantly higher than ours which "justifies" the higher price...so you'll probably see something like what it's priced like currently. :3deek3:

Doesn't matter how much it costs. That thing is worth it. blink

I took a ride in a Mk5 GTi 2.0t yesterday. Pretty damn quick little bugger.

Have you guys seen the 06 Passat yet?  Woo hoo they really are baby Phaetons.  Saw the two side by side the ass end on the Passat was higher than the Phaeton's.  Tires come up almost to mid thigh on me!  TANKS!

How is everybody? peace

Add to the mix an '04 Getta GLI and you have Sarah's 1.8 turbo stable.

A truck  huh Uhhh ok.  LOL  I've been thinking about buying myself a nice little $500 Subaru for getting out on the back roads and going hiking.  My car won't even make it to the trailhead without removing some essential parts.  Borrowed my cousin's "Ru" for the first backpacking trip of the year, boy was I glad!  I know what I really need, cough cough, a Toureg.  LOL  rolleyes  Maybe when the GLI is paid off in another 20 years!   Crying or Very sad
