03 GTI: a while ago when I was driving on the highway my ABS, ESP, and CEL lights went on and I lost my ABS.

turns out the ABS harness had detached from the strut housing clip and had been rubbing the inside of my wheel on the passenger side. Over time this friction eroded the outside plastic and ultimately cut into the wire beneath causing the malfunction. I know this because it happened once before.

so I bust out some wire and electrical tape again and put it back together, however this time I use a zip tie to keep the harness attached to the strut.

ABS and CEL lights went away, but now unlike before the ESP light remained on. I took her around the block and the ABS works fine and still no CEL but ESP remains.

now my question is why is the ESP light still on? and more importantly, should I care?

thx in advance

easy way would be to vag it and see what code the ESP system has,  ESP has to many sensors to start guessing what is makeing the light stay on.
