New to the board, I put a CAI on yesterday a my CEL came on. Went and had it checked out and it was running rich, O2 back #1 too slow, have missfires and it seems like I'm hitting limp mode. I accelerate and my car makes this funny noise right a 3000 rpm and when boost gauge hits 5 psi. Help please.

unplug your MAF, then reset your ECU, if no vagcom, then just unplug your battery for a minute.

CEL will come back on after 2 trips, and your ABS light will come on but car will run fine, and no limp mode.

if that doesnt happen then your o2 might indeed be bad.

to clear codes, the battery has to be unplugged for min. of 30 mins or more...this does not solve problems, just clear the codes....a problem will come back and so will the CEL

But, mine has been on for months and runs fine...just went on a little trip and got 29.25 mpg for 250 miles

what kind of CAI?  Did u install correctly? Do u have experience with this type of thing?

As far as I know a CEL is not very common on the more popular intake options,

I installed a carbonio. However the problem was fixed. Limp mode was cause by missfires. I did some research into everything that would cause missfires i.e. spark plugs, ignition coils etc. I have brand new Denso plugs so I figured I go and get 4 new coils. Drop them in and my car is up and running like a champ again. I notice my car runs 10x smoother than before and was wondering if the CAI or the new coils are responsible for that? Thanks for all the help. beer

most likely the coils are why it is so smooth now...what do u think of the intake?

Absolutely love it, its very loud! Im a newbie so I don't know any much about tuning. Im just going off the basics via friends and DUB websites. My mods thus far APR 91, GHL 2.5 TB, Hyperboost DV, N75J, Carbonio CAI and SW boost guagew/ A-pillar mount. I think my next project will be FMIC when I hace sufficient funds.
